My blog

I'm Oliver

A digital artist and designer from Hastings. Having come from a creative background in art and design, I shifted into digital media after falling back in love with photography. I use much of what I learnt in art and design to further my creativity and fuel both my photography projects and both my games design and animation which I teach my self independently. I’ve always had a love for architecture and more physical forms of image making, experimenting with materials and processes, but more recently I’ve expanded into portraiture to explore people and character in new ways.

I’m following in my mother’s footsteps with the aim of becoming a visual effects and computer animation artist, bringing together my creative practice with a strong technical skillset. I have experience across a wide range of high level software from creative suites and CAD to Linux and more technical systems, and I’ve built on that with Epic Games’ Unreal Engine certification.

For me, it’s about combining the hands on, tactile side of making with the digital and technical tools that open up new possibilities. That balance is what drives my work forward and shapes where I want to take it next.
